10 Fun Facts About Carter on his 10th Birthday
- 1. He only wears his glasses to school. His eyesight isn't very bad and he prefers not to wear them whenever possible.
2. His favorite dinner foods are Pineapple Ribs and Fried Chicken.
3. His favorite animal is a cat. Any cat. Big or small. His room is riddled with stuffed tigers, cheetas, cats, kittens and leopards. It's also the subject of nearly every poster and picture in his room.
4. He is a night owl like his Mom. Our natural body clocks would be happier if we could sleep until 10 or 11 am every day and then go to bed around Midnight-1 am.
5. He is creative and loves to make things with anything in my scrapbook room. My favorite thing that he's done lately is when he had to decorate his Valentine box for school and he dumped out my entire jar of red buttons just so he could see every single one and choose only the 'best' ones to put on his box. He then dutifully picked up every last one and put the jar back on the shelf. He's also a pretty good little artist too.
6. He is very smart! His teacher brags on him saying that he's one of the smartest kids in his grade. We've had our challenges with schoolwork but he's worked through most of them and has come out shining. He may be small in stature but he makes up for that in brainpower!
7. He is really funny! He's got a very dry sense of humor and will crack us up just when we least expect it.
8. I don't think he's ever actually stayed in his bed without getting up until morning after we put him to bed more than a handful of times in his life. He is forever getting up saying "I need a snack", "I need a drink", "I can't sleep", "I'm hot", "The dogs are barking outside my window" or any other of a number of issues he comes up with after being put to bed. It drives us NUTS.
9. Red is his favorite color. Red backpack, red winter coat, red as a choice to wear whenever given the opportunity.
10. He's the very best firstborn son anyone could ever ask for. We laid in bed last night and talked about the night he was born and what Daddy said when we found out we were blessed with a son and how he told me Carter was a boy. Carter liked listening to the story and had lots of hugs to hand out when it was time for lights-out on our single-digit aged boy for the very last time.
